Mobile centrifuge unit assists Thames Water with plant upgrade
November 19,
Thames Water are undertaking an important upgrade to one of their waste water treatment works near to Oxford. This work includes an upgrade to the existing belt press sludge de-watering building during which time the building is unavailable for operation. The large volumes of sludge produced on site each day cannot be stored for the duration of the project.
Trade Effluent Services Ltd delivered and setup a high capacity fully mobile centrifuge unit to deal with all the sludge produced by the site each day. The machine was successfully installed and operated initially on a 12hr/5 day working schedule. This was increased to 24hr/7 day operation coinciding with the digestor cleaning which temporarily increased the site sludge production volumes.
Proving the true flexibility and speed of deployment the mobile rig was moved to a new location on site working around the ongoing civil building schedule.
